Should I get an iPad or repair my laptop?

I have a 2007 MacBook pro that died on my last week. It is past the warranty period and has a faulty logic board that can be replaced for $650. I am an engineering student in college and do most of my work on my iMac, so I really only need word processing on it. I did use matlab and autocad on it, but since I have them on my desktop, it's not absolutely necessary I have it on my laptop. I really just need to type notes in class. I would definitely get the keyboard for the ipad too. My dad works for apple so I can get a 25% discount on an iPad or another MacBook. Will an iPad suffice for what I need it for, should I fix my MacBook pro, or should I get the new 13" MacBook pro?

Is this a good idea for a night in?

My gentleman friend will be coming over in half and hour and I'm planning on seducing him. I don't have time to go out and rent a DVD or buy any snacks so I'm just going to have to make do with what I have in my house. I have the Human Centipede and half a tin of Salt & Vinegar pringles. Will this suffice? Do I have a chance with him?

Do you want to be a permanent victim? Why would you protect this person by not reporting their behavior. The school is obligated to doing everything it can to resolve the situation. This guy sounds like the human equivalent of a canker sore!

tell her that your a responsible adult, and its not only you and your boyfriend going there's going to other people there. tell her you'll check in with her as much as possible. have her meet some of the people going with you so she feels more comfortable.

Crazy heart palipatations?

I have I guess PVC's for about 5 or 6 years I'm now 27 had echo's that were fine I have a ECG done every year, but besides the PVC's about twice I felt my heart start beating fast and crazy. lasted about 20 second and then I coughed and it went away. I never got dizzy or lightheaded just panicked. Any ideas? V tach? A fib?

Which gases exchange in the lungs?

When you inhale and oxygen is picked up by the bloodstream in the alveoli, do the other gases which make up the air we breath also get absorbed into the bloodstream (such as CO2 and Nitrogen)? Or are these gases directly exhaled without passing through the body (bloodstream) as the Oxygen does?
