When carbon meets oxygen and gas is released is the process considered nuclear fission; for example?

for example: at a soda fountain when co2 is mixed with soda syrup and a soda is drawn from the fountain, co2 is meeting oxygen and a fizz is produced, is this fizz considered nuclear fission? please answer because my co workers are telling me that the process is not nuclear fission. I believe that they are not looking at the word nuclear beyond nuclear bomb. thankyou
